Our Self-Study will provide us with the opportunity to construct benchmarks in preparation for the implementation of a new strategic plan, help us plan to establish infrastructure to ensure its successful implementation, and measure our progress towards meeting our goals. We will examine our institutional assessment and effectiveness processes, assessment of student learning outcomes, and the student experience through a select group of Middle States standards:
- Standard 1: Mission and Goals
- Standard 2: Planning, Resource Allocation, and Institutional Renewal
- Standard 3: Institutional Resources
- Standard 7: Institutional Assessment
- Standard 14: Assessment of Student Learning
The construction of UMBC’s Self-Study will be an inclusive process and will include input from a broad range of campus stakeholders. In addition to the formal committee members, community members including, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and others external stakeholders will be invited to participate in town hall meetings to provide their insight and feedback on the Self-Study during all phases of its development.
