Institutional Effectiveness

The Self-Study will also serve as a benchmark upon which to build an enhanced, formalized, periodic, and proactive institutional effectiveness process, with special emphasis on student success. This process will use qualitative and quantitative measures to inform decisions, and our Self-Study will help identify the required infrastructure to put the program into place. The Self-Study will help to continue to embed assessment and effectiveness, developed in our 2008 Assessment Plan, into the culture of UMBC and help us to close the loop on our past assessment efforts.

We will examine our institutional assessment and effectiveness processes, assessment of student learning outcomes, and the student experience. Our Self-Study will provide us with the opportunity to construct benchmarks in preparation for the implementation of a new strategic plan, help us plan to establish infrastructure to ensure its successful implementation, and measure our progress towards meeting our goals.
